Pangula Mannamurna: A Story of Healing, Culture, and Connection
Design Notion was honoured to design a book for Pangula Mannamurna, an Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisation based in Mount Gambier, on Boandik Country. The name comes from the Bunganditj language: Pangula means "a place where a doctor or healer can be found", and Mannamurna means "joining hands". Together, they reflect a place of healing and partnership.
The book design was shaped by deep respect for story, culture and Country. Guided by the lived experiences shared within its pages, our work aimed to hold space for truth and connection through thoughtful layout and visual storytelling.
Pangula Mannamurna is playing a vital role in the revitalisation of language and culture in the region. This book stands as a proud expression of that work – a powerful contribution to community healing and cultural strength.
